Beyond The Banks Of Bywater Chapter V. (A stranger on the road.) May 25th

Dimple was awakened by a heavy little boy jumping on the end of her bed. "Moro!" she moaned only half conscience. "what do you want you little rascal!"
Moro her 6 year old little brother answered in his babyish talk. "mama tolds me to gets you up! she and dadda goed shoppin!"
Dimple opened on eye curious,
"Oh did they now?"
This is new! Dimple thought Mother has never left us home alone before!
Moro continued to jump getting closer and closer to her stomach, Dimple immediately sat up and threw her feet on the ground, "You win!" Dimple said and then turned around and tackled her little brother. He laughed and screamed in a very happy way "Dimps! get off ov mee!!" Dimple tickled him until he turned bright pink from laughing so hard."You look like a pig when your that color " Dimple said jokingly, Moro got down on all fours and started chasing Dimple around oinking like a crazy pig. Dimple ran through the house screaming in a shrill laughing way. Finally after much chasing and a lot of silliness Moro and Dimple found themselves in the pantry looking for a bite of breakfast. "Dimps how 'bout we 'ave gravy and iscbits?" Dimple laughed at her brothers little mispronunciation. "biscuits! You silly goose, and I suppose we could have biscuits and gravy."
"Yay!" Moro called happily.
"Just let me get dressed first, okay Mo?" Dimple said exiting the pantry.
"Sure Dimps! I gonna wait here!" Moro climbed up on a chair by the tall window in the kitchen that looked over the road.
"okay! I'll just be a minute!"
Dimple ran to her room and shut her door and threw open her clothing trunk. She dawned her favourite blue dress with the embroiderer flowers on it, and then skipped back to the kitchen. Moro was still standing on the chair by the widow, he seemed to be looking intently at something.
"what do you see Mo?" Dimple asked as she moved towards the oven and started stoking the fire so she could cook breakfast."
"who's dat dimps?" Moro answered pointing out the window.
Dimple came over and looked where Moro was pointing, a lone old rough looking hobbit was wandering up the road, he had a big ugly scar on his right cheek and an eye-patch over his left eye. He was quite a scary sight to see. Dimple felt a sudden chill run up her spine. "hey Mo lets go lock the door shall we?" Moro caught the worry in her voice and got down from his stool quickly and grabbed Dimple's hand. She walked swiftly to the entryway and went to the door with Moro still attached to her arm. Dimple bent over and grabbed the key that they hardly ever used out from under the rug, she stuck it in the key hole and turned it, a cheerful click! sounded and Dimple let out a sigh. Moro looked up at her with a scared expression still on his face. "we're safe Mo, he can't get in now."  Moro smiled "good Dimps! he wooked wike he'd eat us'n whowe!" Dimple laughed, "how are you not sure i wouldn't eat you whole right now?" Moro grinned, "I hungy too! wet's get brekest now!"
Dimple agreed and Moro was off to the kitchen like a chicken who saw a grasshopper. singing a little ditty that their mother had taught them years ago.
