Chapter III Beyond The Banks Of Bywater May 24th

Dimple shut her door and flopped on her bed. She had to wait until her mum and dad went to bed, she rolled over onto her left side the big heavy trunk that held all her clothes in it was sitting there looking as innocent as could be, but Dimple knew the truth about its situation. When the building of their house had taken place originally there had only been one master bedroom and then another smaller guest room. But since Dimple's Great-great-grandparents had twins and then a few more children. Doro* had to add on to their hole very quickly leaving blank spots of plaster and wood supports every now and then because of the rush. And not to mention the restoration processes they went through after the Battle Of Bywater**. Dimple had one of those spots in her room and small section about 24 inches across and 12 inches high had been left with nothing but loose dirt. Dimple being the naughty trouble-making little girl that she is decided to carve it out and make a secret tunnel to the pantry. She had done it years ago and it now was so smooth and sure from use that she didn't even worry about it collapsing...but on the other side of the wall? The shelf right above her hole had a great sag right in the middle of the board above her hole. it looked as if it would fall at the slightest touch. But Dimple didn't notice and just continued to use her tunnel without any fear. Her mother however had noticed and was quite bewildered by it she had started piling all the potato sacks under it to keep it up and secure. This also made it easier for dimple to hide her hole although May didn't know that. Dimple walked to her chest, flipped it open, and put on a pale yellow nightgown the colour of a certain loaf of bread that she had devoured. she then crawled in bed and waited for the noise outside her room to quiet. Dimple Lin Millstone was back at her trouble-making once again.

* According to what I have researched the Millstone's do not have much history on their family at all. so I thought it my duty as a history loving hobbit to research and find out my family tree or just spin yarns about my history until I am happy with it!
